Simply Hello *Smile*

It seems I have a new found enjoyment on Television! QVC! Lord help. Not really though My Mom has been a QVC fanatic for years, I've watched it with her a number of times, So I know what my favorite shows are. Denim & Company & Any of the Cooking/Kitchen Shows! I Love David, What a cutie! Anyway.. Moving along..

I also gave two new shows a try this past couuple of weeks, "The Riches" on FX & "October Road" Not sure what Channel it's on, Fox maybe. October road was just okay but I LOVE The Riches! What a great show! Check it out if you have time for sure!

I've been a busy girl with Scrapbook stuff for the last two weeks, I'm trying to get caught up on Ashley's pictures, So I can work on her School book and get started on a book for Abbey or course, So I treated myself last week to one of the new AMM totes, I knew I needed/wanted one of these as soon as Danette and I walked into the Scrapbook warehouse and saw them sitting everywhere on the crop tables! So I got one with my Hobby Lobby 40% off coupon last week!! I also bought myself a Crop A Dile, for punching holes and setting eyelets quietly! I have a ton of eyelets that I'd never use because of the old loud Hammer! Here are my new toys...

Abbey is 8 weeks old now, I can hardly believe she is already 2 months! Time is flying by! It makes me a little sad that she is growing so big already! She now smiles & laughs at you and opens her mouth to try to form workds to talk to you. It's so cute! She's such a joy as most babies are..

Between Rosie Odonnell & The great Gal Susan that Danette and I met at Scrapbook warehouse I was heavily influenced to try my hand at some modge Podge, So here was a little carrier I decorated for Ashley to keep her Homework supplies in... I'll definately be doing this again, I enjoyed it very much!

Right after we had Abbey Jake's work sent us a plant, You should know, That I do not have a green thumb, I've managed to kill Ivy in the past. So what I'm wondering is what kind of plant this is, So I can google how to care for it properly.. so here are a couple of pics, The flowers are fake.. but those really tall stems are real stems.. so I'm guessing it blooms some kind of buds some time of year.. so if you can help me out with what type of plant this is... PLEASE DO!

I got my new issues of Food & Family mag yesterday, If you do not get this mag you should, It's free and has THE BEST recipes in it!! It's put out by kraft. This issue has some yummy stuff I can hardly wait to make in it!

Okay, Guess that's it for now, I posted a few new recipes on my recipe blog, I MAY post another later today because I made a yummy Enhilada Casserole last night!

Have a great Tuesday everyone! I can hardly wait for American Idol!!!

7 Weeks Today :o)

Abbey is 7 weeks old today, She is getting so big and is such a good baby!! She is a joy to have around!! She is starting try to mimick our faces, and noises which is so cute and she is learning to try to grab for things !Brie asked in my last blog if my hormones are wacky, I was lucky because they were only wackey about the second week after she was born, Now I seem to be back to my old moody self.. LOL!!

Everything here is going great!! Ashley is out for Spring break this week, It's going to be rough keeping her occupied and happy for sure, I'm hoping the rain will stay away and we can have a few days at the park, Guess I'm getting a preview of what this summer will be like.. LOL!! On a good note, *knock on wood* Ashley is now pooping on the potty everyday! Woohoo!!! Hope she keeps it up. Here is a craft we did together a few weeks ago, we took empty formulas cans and she decorated one for her and one for Maddy. They turned out pretty cute!!

I haven't been knitting at all lately, I used to knit while I watched my TV shows, but now that has been replaced with a sweet baby to feed while watcing my shows.. hehe! I'll get back into it I'm sure.. I have been working on a puzzle occasionally, Jake has one he's been working on as well, Plus I've had a lot of Thank You cards to make, Those are done now and I'm looking forward to some Scrapbooking!

I finally talked Mom into getting her smoker out of storage and out of the box! We put it together Saturday and smoked some pork ribs!! OMG they were so yummy!!! I know how to smoke things now!! I'm so excited!! I'd been hounding Mom for some time to get that smoker out and teach me how to use it :o)

On Friday Mom, Abbey & I went to Ashley's fieldtrip to Sulpher to the Nature center. It was a lot of fun, The kids in Ashley's class always make me laugh, They are so funny at that age...

Okay guess I better get out of here, Hobby Lobby is calling my name!!! Woohoo!!!

Later, Mandi

Out of time & Un-Organized

I'm stressing out a little today, The house is very cluttered and messy looking, and I barely have the energy to get up and clean it. Don't know what's going on, lack of good sleep I suppose, I needed to head to Wal-Mart this morning for groceries but after I fed Abbey I went back to bed .... guess I'm feeling guilty about that too.. Just feel yucky today.

Had my 6 week check-up yesterday I went ahead and had her put me on the pill. I haven't been on the BC pill since before I was pregnant with Ashley, The ones I was taking back then were putting me in horrible moods. I was so mean :o( I hope these won't do me that way. If they do I'll stop taking them and use something else. My midwife was such a great lady! She is a Scrapbooker as well, and she had some baby die cuts waiting for me when we arrived yesterday for my appointment, She also is going to start inviting me to crops at her house!! I'm so excited and GLAD I get to keep in touch with her, She is such and awesome lady. I love her.

I have not been knitting, No time! I haven't felt the urge and can' t find anything I want to knit on right now.

On Saturday Danette and I went to Lewisville, TX to our favorite store Scrapbook Warehouse and did some Shopping and Scrapbooking, we had a ball!! We sat next to these two ladies that were so fun and funny to chat with! They invited us to become part of their Scrapbook retreats!! So I'm looking forward to doing that sometime!! I got 5 layouts done!! Now I have scrapbook fever again! :o)

I haven't been cooking a lot, we've been eating out and I've thrown simple stuff on the grill lately. I'm in a cooking slump as well I guess.

Jake and I each have a puzzle on the table that we're working on. Part of the clutter that's bugging me I guess.. LOL!!

Okay better get out of here, Dunno what to do, Nothing sounce good.. LOL!! I'm hungry though! LOL!!

Hugs, Mandi

Hello!!

It's been awhile! I haven't really had anything exciting to post about though. hee! That's the main reason I haven't posted. I've been keeping myself busy running around a lot too for some reason, Just didn't feel like being at home for a few days I guess. Today I stayed home and got some cleaning and laundry done and gave Abbey a bath. Feels good to be here all day after running around so much. Not to mention that I have a TON of shows to catch up on! I'm so behind STILL from the beginning of Feb!!!

Abbey is doing great, She had a Dr's appointment on Monday, She was one month old, She now weighs 8lbs 4oz and is 20 inches long, That means she's gained 2 lbs and grew 2 inches!! I was so surprised! I knew she had put on some weight but WOW!! She's growing like a week, She's amazing and a good baby, during the day she eats 3oz. every two hours and at night we put her to bed around 10pm and she wakes at 3am for a feeding and again around 6:30 usually. She doesn't like to be fussed with too much, She grunts to let us know that she doesn't like having her clothes changed or bothered with her blankets. She does however like for us to change her diaper very regularly and isn't afraid to let us know when we've waited to long.. LOL!! She's a doll, Things really haven't changed as much in our home as I thought they would. We just have another person to love :o)

Ashley seems to be handling everything very well. She's always loving on Abbey and kissing and hugging and trying to pick her ack! She gets a little rough at times, I guess she just doesn't know her own strength. She's a very proud big Sister and tells everyone about the Abbey, Shawn says she can hardly wait to get home from his house to see her. LOL! Ashleys doing great with her school and everything, She practices writing her name and Abbey's name.. She loves for me to write down everyone's names and she copies them beside mine, It's amazing to watch them learn!! I love it!

Jake and I are wonderful, He's a great Daddy as I already knew he was. He helps with the night feedings and diapers never scare him away. He's amazing. I'm so glad to be sharing this life with such a special person.

We have plans for tomorrow night at friends house. Jake is giving up drinking a beer or two so I can have some Margarita's or Mike - arita's as they are called (made by mike's hard lemonade) I'm looking forward to some relaxing!

That's it for now!! Here are some 4 weeks pics of Abbey...

There's a Baby In The House!

As you can see I have some more pictures to share of the newest member of our family along with the old members :o)

Things have still been unsettled around here since January 29th. We got in from the Hospital on the 1st of Feb. Then Jake's Mom arrived on Saturday the 3rd. And even though my feet were so swollen I could barely walk & even though I shouldn't have been I'd spent the entire Friday before her arrival as well as Saturday morning getting the house cleaned and organized. I was amazed that even though I'd cleaned RIGHT before leaving for the hospital and no-one being here for an entire week that I still found things "not good enough" for my final inspection, I wish I wasn't so darn OCD sometimes!! I wish I could've overlooked those things and relaxed...

So she arrived on Saturday and we here until the 13th. I loved having her here and was glad she got to spend some special time with her new Grandbaby, But I'm sad that Jake I didn't get any alone time in all the two weeks that he was off work :o( I miss him everyday while he's at work.

Since she left to go back home Ashley's been sick so I've had her at home and out of school. I'm looking forward to some quiet times in the mornings just me and Abbey :o)

Abbey is doing wonderrful, During the day she eats about 2 oz. of formula every 2 hours and at night she wakes about 2am to eat and again at 5am. I'm knocking on wood right now because I LOVE that she only wakes twice in the night but I know that could change anytime. Some of you may remember that my first born Ashley would only sleep like 15 minutes at a time.. I was a zombie the first 3 months of her life, The big factor helping this time is that Jake get's up for the 2am feeding! I'm so blessed. really he is a wonderful husband and an even better Daddy, He helps with Abbey so much! He doesn't even mind the poopy diapers!!! AMAZING!!

So everything here is going great, I have way to many shows on the DVR recorded that need to get watched because we're running out of time to record new ones, So I'll be working hard on that.. haha! While I'm feeding Abbey, cleaning house, doing laundry, taking care of Ashley and knitting.. ROFL!! Somewhere, sometime I have ALOT of Thank you cards to get made and mailed out, Lord help me....

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Abbey Claire Goodman/ 6lbs 3 oz./ 18 inches long..

I'm sorry that I have not been on before now, It's been a rough week...

Abbey Claire Goodman was born Monday January 29th @ 9:09 am. after only 30 minutes of labor and 1.5 hours after they gave me the induction meds. There was no time for epidurals or pain killers.. and it turns out it was a good thing I didn't have them. Little Abbey was having trouble getting oxygen and her heart rate kept dropping before she was born . . . after she was born she continued to have problems and had to be given CPR. We're not exactly sure how long she was out of oxygen and there is some concern of the long term effects of that, But we'll just be thankful to hold her in our arms, and leave the rest in God's hands. Only time will tell.

After being given CPR She was airlifted to Oklahoma City to the OU Children's hospital. I was released from the Hospital at 8pm that night and we drove straight to be with her. It was four very long days of hell. After she was breathing fine on her own, they wouldn't let her go until she was eating what they thought she should be eating and as often as they thought she should be. Spending the first four days of your newborns life with Doctors breathing over your shoulder is just not natural. We were released Thursday night to come home.. we were home Friday and Jake's Mom arrived Saturday.. so it's been a whirlwind since we got home. . .

I'm happy to report Abbey is doing wonderful, eating what she wants, when she wants and she is such a good and pleasant baby...

Jake is such a good Daddy, I could never have dreamed it better...

I'm looking forward to some normal-ness back, and feeling at home again.

I'm doing okay, My First child was born after 6 hours of labor, with an epidural so I felt nothing. So this was quiet an experience for me, but if I could go back and change it, I wouldn't, I'm glad to have felt everything and I'm glad I got Abbey out quickly enough so they could help her breath. I bounced back so much quicker without all of the drugs in my system and I was able to leave less than 10 hours after labor to go be with her.

I've done a lot of praying this week and I have a lot to be thankful for....

I'll post a good normal boring blog when things are more settled for me...

I love everyone. Give your babies kisses tonight... be thankful to be blessed with the wonderful gift of your children....

Just A Quick Note . . .

Just wanted to let those who read know that I will be checking into the Hospital tomorrow night at 9pm. They will keep me overnight and induce me the following morning, Monday, January 29th. We should have our Abbey sometime mid-day Monday. We hope :o) I think we have decided on a Middle name...

Wish us luck...

Past The Due Date & Heading Into Monday . . .

Well.. I'm officially now 2 days past my due date! Ha! I'm really surprised, I carried Ashley two weeks over, But I thought for sure this baby would be an early one! So I have a Dr's appointment tomorrow, they have already Scheduled me for Induction on Monday if I don't have have this weekend.. . But if I've dialated more than the 2 centimeters that I was last Friday they may have me come in on Sunday evening instead of Monday morning. We'll find out tomorrow. We're still not settled on a middle name... We've thrown around Abbey Marie, Abbey Chere, Abbey Clarissa, I just don't know!! Argh!!! LOL!!

The Van has been making a noise that I thought was a bad belt or something, We had a friend look at it yesterday and he seemed to think it might be the barrings in our altinator going out, So we did buy an extended warranty on it so we're taking it in to the dodge place in the morning at 9am to let them have a look at it. I hope it turns out to be nothing but a belt... If it does need a new altinator I'm trying to figure out how we're going to fit that in between having a baby Monday and picking his Mom up in Oklahoma City at the airport next Saturday... bad timing... wonder if it could make it until after then... LOL!! Taking chances.. another think I don't like to do... LOL!!

I'm always interested in seeing photo's of peoples houses, cars computer desks, or special places in their homes, Call me nosey I guess, But I decided to share a picture with you of what I refer to as "My Hole" I know . . it doesn't SOUND very nice.. but this is where I sit when I knit, watch TV, & Read Magazines. I sit no-where else in the living room and I don't care if you are company I'm not afraid to tell you to move outta my hole! LOL!! If you have a special place in your house you call your own... Share it too!! You'll see the beautiful wooden roses that my husband bought me for Christmas (yeah he buys me real ones all the time too.. great guy he is!) A picture of my sweet Sugar Bear Ashley, my tart burner, my Diet Dr. Pepper (a must have for sitting up late at night to knit) on the arm of my end of the couch always resides a project I'm working on. What you can't see is underneath the the table is two baskets full of projects I'm going to work on next or that I'm also working on... I won't share but part of the cushions.. LOL!! They are worn down of course!

Now for projects I had going or have going... Here is a hat and some mittens I knitted for Abbey, I have yet to find a bootie pattern I like to knit to match these...

you may remember me knitting me some fingerless "Fetching" gloves in a cream color a few months back, Mom wanted a pair in her fave dark blue color.. you can't see the cabling, But I'm almost done with these..

Well, That's all I can think of to share for now. Don't be alarmed if you don't here from me for a week, I am afterall having a baby Hope if not before.. On Monday :o) Wish me luck . . .....

Maddie Turned Four :o)

Some of you know and some of you don't know, That I baby-sat my second cousin Maddy from the time she was 6 weeks old until this past Summer when she started Pre-School. So for her fourth Birthday this past week I made her a scrapbook of all the adorable photo's I had of her since I started keeping her, I feel as if she is my own and I miss her a lot. Happy Birthday my Maddie Pie, I will always have a special place for you in my heart...

Brrrr .... Winter Weather

I cannot get blogger to let me add photo's so I'm going to post this for now and try pictures later....

We're finally having some winter temps here in Oklahoma!! It's 21 degrees outside right now and ice is thick everywhere! The roads weren't slick until last night when our temps dropped. But it looks like the sun might do a nice job of melting the roadways.

I'm not planning on getting out in it, but, I am one week from my due date and Ashley seems very ill, if she isn't looking better this afternoon I'll have to take her to the ER. She is running a fever, coughing with congestion and laying innn her room watcing movies. I go into labor it's a one hour drive to my hospital. So I hope it doesn't happen... after I post this I'm curling up on the couch with some knitting and all the tv shows that recorded last week! Woohoo!!

On Friday some of the ladies that Jake works with put us a baby shower together. We had it at his work, in the break room on their lunch hour. It was mexican potluck and let me tell you, there was some yummy food served! Because Jake works at a circuit city distribution we weren't able to take our camera in, but someone was taking pictures for us so hopefully they will get those to me so I'll have them to scrapbook. We got a lot of nice and helpfull things for the baby, here is a picture of all the goodies we recieved! Lots of nice things, now I need to get busy with Thank you cards for sure!

Here is another belly shot for the record as well. I'm feeling well, just waking a lot during the night, can't get comfy. but otherwise I'm doing well.

We got Jake's Mom a plane ticket to come in after the baby is born, her flight is set to arrive on Febuary 3rd and she'll be here until the 13th. I'm looking forward to seeing her again, It's been a little over a year since we've seen her, but I hope things aren't too chaotic with the new little one in the house, I'm sure she'll be a great help though :o)

I hope this ice on the roads is gone tomorrow, and Ashley is feeling good enough for school, I was needing to buy a few final things for the baby and pick up some groceries, Thank goodness we had enough leftovers from last nights dinner to cook for dinner tonight & I don't have to worry about that today. Monday is my normal grocery shopping day when Ashley is in school, Mom and I go.But with today being a Holiday Ashley is out of school.

I guess that's all to report right now, I'm working on a afghan for Ashley, no pattern, I'm just cabling it, I'll have to get a picture later, I'm still working on her scarf and last night I started a hat for the baby. I have a few patterns for socks, mittens and hats I'm going to work on this week and I'm still working on the slow growing afghan for the living room :o) Sorry no pics this time of the knitting.

Okay I better scram, I need to eat!

My Beef Chile Rellenos

Beef Chile Rellenos
(I cut this recipe in half)

12 chilies poblanos
1/3 cup canola oil
2 pounds lean ground round beef
1 cup chopped yellow or green onion
1 garlic clove, chopped
2 cups fresh diced tomatoes
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Batter:
8 eggs, separated
2 cups flour
3 cups cooking oil
Monterey Jack Cheese for melting over

Roast the poblanos over a gas flame (I roasted on my grill), turning until blistered and slightly charred all over.
Put them in a heavy plastic bag and set aside to steam for 10 to 20 minutes (check them, you do not want them to get to soft and fall apart on you).
Peel the skin. Carefully make a lengthwise slit in each of the peppers and remove the seeds and membranes. Rinse and drain well using paper towels pat the peppers dry. Heat oil in a large skillet or saucepan, add meat and brown. Add chopped onion, and garlic stirring for one minute. Add tomatoes, salt, cumin and black pepper and cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Stir constantly until meat stuffing is dry. Set aside to cool. Stuff the peppers with the filling and secure with a toothpick.
In a bowl beat egg whites until stiff and foamy. Add egg yolks to egg whites and blend. In a separate bowl add flour for dusting peppers and set aside. In a deep skillet heat the oil. Batter and flour dust peppers and drop into hot oil. Fry to a golden brown on both sides. Lay peppers on paper towels to soak up excess grease.

Long time No Blog

Wow, It's been awhile, I guess with the new year and now starting the weekly prenatal visits I've been keeping pretty busy, Jake and I also did the declutter on the house, I usually do it about every 3 months (habits of a neat freak) but I hadn't been able to do it myself since I got pregnant so I recruited Jake to help me this time. I wanted the house neat and clutter free for the new baby and for the visitors we'll have as well as Jake's Mom who will be coming in on the 3rd and staying until the 13th with us :o)

Our New Year was nice, We just had Michael and Misty over, we stayed up until about 3 am, playing Trivial pursuit 80's Edition and then a few games of Uno. It was a fun night. I didn't make any new years resolutions, I figured since I'm due with a new child this month I'd better just plan to be a New Mommie and that was it.. LOL!! I don't like to sound like such a pessimist but resolutions are hardly every kept anyway and if you really want to make a change in your life why wait for the new year to start?

The midwives say I am dialated a finger tip and that the baby is in position, So She's ready. We're just waiting on my body to be readyy I guess. They did tell me they would only let me go a week over which is good, but they also told me I have the option to induce if I'd like in my 39th week. Since we drive nearly an hour to the Hospital I'm seriously thinking of the induction, They induced me with Ashley because I was 2 weeks late! We have a weekly appointment Friday, So we'll see what they say.

I started a scrapbook for Maddy, I'm hoping to give it to her for her birthday but we'll see. for those who don't know, Maddy is my cousins little girl, who I kept from the time she was 6weeks old up until this past summer when she started pre-school. I have tons of pictures of her so I want to scrapbook them for her.

Other than that I've been working on a bit of knitting, I've only started one project and am working on finishing up the ones I had going.. here are some pictures of that...

My afghan I'm knitting for the living room.. I'll knit 4 of these long strips and then seam them together, I am using a patter. for this one, It's a pretty stitch (check out the close up pic)

Here is the new project I started it's a pocket scarf, you knit a scarf but in the ends of the scarf are pockets for you to tuck your hands into to keep them warm, I let Ashley pick out the yarn she liked for this :o)

I did finally finished the baby's hoodie sweater, now I just need to pick up some buttons to sew on there, I love the way it turned out :o)

Okay, I guess that's about it for Me, On Friday Jak's work is giving us a baby shower, we'll be going to that around 11am before we head up for our Dr's appointment, Nothing planned for the weekend, except a little bottle shopping and baby shopping. Have a great week everyone!!

Happy New year!

Christmas Is Coming...

It's 5 more days until Christmas Day! Woo! Ashley get's to be with her Daddy for Christmas morning this year, But we'll have her that afternoon to give her our gifts and Santa's gifts :o) We'll be doing our Mexican Christmas Dinner with Mom on Saturday Night! I'm looking forward to that :o)

I recieved an adorable Sleeper in the mail this week from my sweet friend Elaine, Thank you so much sweetie!! The sleeper is adorable and I LOVED both cards!! Thank you so much!!!

Ashley's Christmas party at School was Friday... here are some cute things from that. She also brought home a nasty cold, If it get's much worse we'll be in the ER before Christmas.. Poor baby, I hate when their sick!!!

This is an adorable Marshmallow tree her class made...

and a really cute ornament.. hehe!!

My knitting is coming along, I'm working on seaming together the sweater for the baby, I hate seaming!!! it's hard to make it look right, I did finishe Kristi's other glove and got her hat/glove set wrapped and under the tree. I'm working on the hiking scarf with just a little bit to go and I startedd a pair of purple mittins for Ashley out of the leftovers from Kristi's gift.

Coming along even better is my Do It List (aka To do list) Since I'm feeling almost back to my normal self (Aside from the preggo belly & My hip giving out now and then) I was glad to see I felt up to making a Do it List again and actually getting it done. I want to finish everything on the list before the new year... preferebly before Christmas even!! LOL!! There was 24 things on my list yesterday morning and as of 3pm today there are 10 thing left to do! Woohoo!! I got a lot done yesterday and this morning!

Okay I'm outta here before I bore everything to pieces.

Happy Holidays!!!

Howday & Happy Holidays!!!

Hrmmm... It's been just a few days since I posted last, A lot has happened and we've had a few things going on here and there :-) My Computer was being a Jack-A** for the last week and running funny for the last year, I've been using AVG's free Anti-Virus software for awhile and I finally figured out that It is what has been making my fairly new computer act wacky for the last year or soo.. It really bogged it down and made it run slower, I uninstalled it and it was amazing how fast the computer started loading webpages and programs! AWESOME! So no more free anti-virus for us, I downloaded a free 90 day trial of Norton's and we'll pay when that time is up :o)

Let's see.. Where should I Start.. LOL!! Decemberrrr 3rd was my last post so it's been over a week. This past weekend (Sat.) we had the "How The Edge Stole Christmas" concert. The edge is a radio Station out of Dallas, TX that plays awesome alternative and Heavy Metal music, So they were putting on the concert.. Here is a pic with our Tickets and a list of the bands an times they played. The Concert was awesome!! I was a bit worried at first about the baby though.. LOL!! But we had checked online before hand to make sure it was safe. Disturbed was even more awesome than the first time we saw them! Great Show!

Mom had watched Ashley for us for the weekend, So we left early on Saturday morning so we could get some Christmas shopping in at Lewsiville, TX before heading on down for the concert. We Hit Toys R Us first, Wwe bought Ashley the V-Smile video game played for her big gift, some puzzles, a book on being a big Sister, Some Lego's and we got an awesome deal on the Curious George Movie and Over The Hedge, We got them both for $20!! Ashley loves George and we haven't seen over the hedge yet. While we were down shopping I went in Joann's Fabrics, where I managed to find NOTHING!! I wanted some sock yarn but they didn't have any!! Someone please help me find some sock yarn online, Because I'm having no luck finding any in the stores :o( We hit a Half Price New and Used book store they have in Lewsiville also, Normally I dump the guys off there and I head over somewhere else to look, But this time I decided to go in with them and I'm sure glad I did!!! They had a whole slew of nice Cookbooks and Knitting Books!! I hit the Jackpot! I only bought 2 knitting books since we were saving our money for Christmas shopping but I cannot wait to go back to that store!!!! Here are the two books I found for Great Prices Even!!

On Monday Ashley's class took a field trip to the Museum, Where they had "Santa's House" set up, The kids got a Christmas story read to them by a lady and Imagine my surprise when She turned on this wooden puppet show for them to view, These puppet's used to be in our Daube's Department store window downtown when I was a kid every year, When the Daube family sold the building I always wondered what happened to the puppets, It was one of our few family traditions to go downtown every year and see the puppets, It brought tears to my eyes to see them working again and made me think a lot of my Dad. here is a picture, Just because I want to share..

Next they kids got a story read to them by Santa, Decorated a sugar cookie with Mrs. Clause and ate it and then they got to Decorate a Snowman Christmas ornament :o) Ashley is over to the left on the back row with the white sweater on :o)

On Thursday we got a small package from Jake's Mom which contained our yearly Christmas ornaments and a few other things.. One of which was the most beautifully Croched Baby blanket I have ever seen!! It was Crochet by Jake's Mom's friend Barb for us, Even though I'm a knitter who doesn't care for Crocheting This blanket is one of the prettiest hand made blankets I've ever seen..
My knitting is going good. I'm still working on my cabled hiking scarf which I'd like to finish soon and start on the matching hat. I still haven't finished the baby Sweater/Cardigan, I just need to seam it together still and add the buttons. I did put these things on hold because I decided to knit my sweet Sister a hat and some mittens in her favorite color, I think she's going to love them!!!

Well, I guess that about covers it for me, We have a Dr's appointment today, Just a regular check up, I think they'll do some labs today, I always just tell them to stick it in my hand and get it over with, They never can find a vein anyway. I've been feeling a little better, But my back hurts a lot and my hips, I can't raise my legs and getting up a down is a challenge. I'm pretty sure my body is getting to old for this.. LOL!!

Okay that's enough for now, Everyone have an awesome week!!!!

The Weekend Is Ending . . .

Well, It' Sunday evening, The weekend is ending, Ashley will be coming home in a couple of hours from the weekend at her Daddy's and we'll be starting to put up the Christmas tree. It should be interesting since we have NO room in this house, Things will have to be rearranged quite a bit to get it up.. We're hoping to have the tree put up when Ashley get's here and then she can help decorate.. but we'll see.

I wanted to share a picture of the most amount of snow we got, Since Oklahoma Never get's snow, This was a lot for us, I know some of you are laughing.. But We're okies... The snow is all gone now..

Here is another of my sweet Ashley getting ready to play in the snow on the second day, She was so excited, She's 5 and this was the first time in her life She's seen this Much snow!!

Jake and I did a little shopping at Wal-Mart last night, Picked up a few small Christmas Gifts for Ashley and a few Random things, We'll be doing our Main shopping for her Next weekend while we're in Texas for "How The Edge Stole Christmas" Concerts. More on that at a later date.

Has anyone tried the Strawberry Milkshake Whoppers?? YUMMY!!!

We also found some very redneck/funny Christmas cards to send to Jake's family in Washington.. Check them out! LOL!!!

I finally (praise God) got a new big skillet to cook in. Both of the big skillet's I had were in horrible shape from age and I've been begging for one forever.

Still going strong on the knitting...I finally finished the babies blanket.. WOOHOO!!!

I did start one new small knitting project on Friday... finished it in a few short hours... A very adorable hat for the baby.. I have Ashley's baby doll modeling it.. It will fit the baby a bit more snug I hope :o) You can kind of see my huge preggo belly in this pic as well.

So now I'm working on finishing up my hiking Scarf and seaming together the baby Cardigan I knitted. Then I can start some new projects!!! Woohoo!!!! hehe!! I'm excitted I have a few lined up already!! Plus I've been buying some new knitting magazines, I really think next I'd like to knit a sweater or something for Ashley or myself to wear.. hehe!!

Okay enough babble! :o)
