Past The Due Date & Heading Into Monday . . .

Well.. I'm officially now 2 days past my due date! Ha! I'm really surprised, I carried Ashley two weeks over, But I thought for sure this baby would be an early one! So I have a Dr's appointment tomorrow, they have already Scheduled me for Induction on Monday if I don't have have this weekend.. . But if I've dialated more than the 2 centimeters that I was last Friday they may have me come in on Sunday evening instead of Monday morning. We'll find out tomorrow. We're still not settled on a middle name... We've thrown around Abbey Marie, Abbey Chere, Abbey Clarissa, I just don't know!! Argh!!! LOL!!

The Van has been making a noise that I thought was a bad belt or something, We had a friend look at it yesterday and he seemed to think it might be the barrings in our altinator going out, So we did buy an extended warranty on it so we're taking it in to the dodge place in the morning at 9am to let them have a look at it. I hope it turns out to be nothing but a belt... If it does need a new altinator I'm trying to figure out how we're going to fit that in between having a baby Monday and picking his Mom up in Oklahoma City at the airport next Saturday... bad timing... wonder if it could make it until after then... LOL!! Taking chances.. another think I don't like to do... LOL!!

I'm always interested in seeing photo's of peoples houses, cars computer desks, or special places in their homes, Call me nosey I guess, But I decided to share a picture with you of what I refer to as "My Hole" I know . . it doesn't SOUND very nice.. but this is where I sit when I knit, watch TV, & Read Magazines. I sit no-where else in the living room and I don't care if you are company I'm not afraid to tell you to move outta my hole! LOL!! If you have a special place in your house you call your own... Share it too!! You'll see the beautiful wooden roses that my husband bought me for Christmas (yeah he buys me real ones all the time too.. great guy he is!) A picture of my sweet Sugar Bear Ashley, my tart burner, my Diet Dr. Pepper (a must have for sitting up late at night to knit) on the arm of my end of the couch always resides a project I'm working on. What you can't see is underneath the the table is two baskets full of projects I'm going to work on next or that I'm also working on... I won't share but part of the cushions.. LOL!! They are worn down of course!

Now for projects I had going or have going... Here is a hat and some mittens I knitted for Abbey, I have yet to find a bootie pattern I like to knit to match these...

you may remember me knitting me some fingerless "Fetching" gloves in a cream color a few months back, Mom wanted a pair in her fave dark blue color.. you can't see the cabling, But I'm almost done with these..

Well, That's all I can think of to share for now. Don't be alarmed if you don't here from me for a week, I am afterall having a baby Hope if not before.. On Monday :o) Wish me luck . . .....

Brrrr .... Winter Weather

I cannot get blogger to let me add photo's so I'm going to post this for now and try pictures later....

We're finally having some winter temps here in Oklahoma!! It's 21 degrees outside right now and ice is thick everywhere! The roads weren't slick until last night when our temps dropped. But it looks like the sun might do a nice job of melting the roadways.

I'm not planning on getting out in it, but, I am one week from my due date and Ashley seems very ill, if she isn't looking better this afternoon I'll have to take her to the ER. She is running a fever, coughing with congestion and laying innn her room watcing movies. I go into labor it's a one hour drive to my hospital. So I hope it doesn't happen... after I post this I'm curling up on the couch with some knitting and all the tv shows that recorded last week! Woohoo!!

On Friday some of the ladies that Jake works with put us a baby shower together. We had it at his work, in the break room on their lunch hour. It was mexican potluck and let me tell you, there was some yummy food served! Because Jake works at a circuit city distribution we weren't able to take our camera in, but someone was taking pictures for us so hopefully they will get those to me so I'll have them to scrapbook. We got a lot of nice and helpfull things for the baby, here is a picture of all the goodies we recieved! Lots of nice things, now I need to get busy with Thank you cards for sure!

Here is another belly shot for the record as well. I'm feeling well, just waking a lot during the night, can't get comfy. but otherwise I'm doing well.

We got Jake's Mom a plane ticket to come in after the baby is born, her flight is set to arrive on Febuary 3rd and she'll be here until the 13th. I'm looking forward to seeing her again, It's been a little over a year since we've seen her, but I hope things aren't too chaotic with the new little one in the house, I'm sure she'll be a great help though :o)

I hope this ice on the roads is gone tomorrow, and Ashley is feeling good enough for school, I was needing to buy a few final things for the baby and pick up some groceries, Thank goodness we had enough leftovers from last nights dinner to cook for dinner tonight & I don't have to worry about that today. Monday is my normal grocery shopping day when Ashley is in school, Mom and I go.But with today being a Holiday Ashley is out of school.

I guess that's all to report right now, I'm working on a afghan for Ashley, no pattern, I'm just cabling it, I'll have to get a picture later, I'm still working on her scarf and last night I started a hat for the baby. I have a few patterns for socks, mittens and hats I'm going to work on this week and I'm still working on the slow growing afghan for the living room :o) Sorry no pics this time of the knitting.

Okay I better scram, I need to eat!

My Beef Chile Rellenos

Beef Chile Rellenos
(I cut this recipe in half)

12 chilies poblanos
1/3 cup canola oil
2 pounds lean ground round beef
1 cup chopped yellow or green onion
1 garlic clove, chopped
2 cups fresh diced tomatoes
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Batter:
8 eggs, separated
2 cups flour
3 cups cooking oil
Monterey Jack Cheese for melting over

Roast the poblanos over a gas flame (I roasted on my grill), turning until blistered and slightly charred all over.
Put them in a heavy plastic bag and set aside to steam for 10 to 20 minutes (check them, you do not want them to get to soft and fall apart on you).
Peel the skin. Carefully make a lengthwise slit in each of the peppers and remove the seeds and membranes. Rinse and drain well using paper towels pat the peppers dry. Heat oil in a large skillet or saucepan, add meat and brown. Add chopped onion, and garlic stirring for one minute. Add tomatoes, salt, cumin and black pepper and cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Stir constantly until meat stuffing is dry. Set aside to cool. Stuff the peppers with the filling and secure with a toothpick.
In a bowl beat egg whites until stiff and foamy. Add egg yolks to egg whites and blend. In a separate bowl add flour for dusting peppers and set aside. In a deep skillet heat the oil. Batter and flour dust peppers and drop into hot oil. Fry to a golden brown on both sides. Lay peppers on paper towels to soak up excess grease.

Long time No Blog

Wow, It's been awhile, I guess with the new year and now starting the weekly prenatal visits I've been keeping pretty busy, Jake and I also did the declutter on the house, I usually do it about every 3 months (habits of a neat freak) but I hadn't been able to do it myself since I got pregnant so I recruited Jake to help me this time. I wanted the house neat and clutter free for the new baby and for the visitors we'll have as well as Jake's Mom who will be coming in on the 3rd and staying until the 13th with us :o)

Our New Year was nice, We just had Michael and Misty over, we stayed up until about 3 am, playing Trivial pursuit 80's Edition and then a few games of Uno. It was a fun night. I didn't make any new years resolutions, I figured since I'm due with a new child this month I'd better just plan to be a New Mommie and that was it.. LOL!! I don't like to sound like such a pessimist but resolutions are hardly every kept anyway and if you really want to make a change in your life why wait for the new year to start?

The midwives say I am dialated a finger tip and that the baby is in position, So She's ready. We're just waiting on my body to be readyy I guess. They did tell me they would only let me go a week over which is good, but they also told me I have the option to induce if I'd like in my 39th week. Since we drive nearly an hour to the Hospital I'm seriously thinking of the induction, They induced me with Ashley because I was 2 weeks late! We have a weekly appointment Friday, So we'll see what they say.

I started a scrapbook for Maddy, I'm hoping to give it to her for her birthday but we'll see. for those who don't know, Maddy is my cousins little girl, who I kept from the time she was 6weeks old up until this past summer when she started pre-school. I have tons of pictures of her so I want to scrapbook them for her.

Other than that I've been working on a bit of knitting, I've only started one project and am working on finishing up the ones I had going.. here are some pictures of that...

My afghan I'm knitting for the living room.. I'll knit 4 of these long strips and then seam them together, I am using a patter. for this one, It's a pretty stitch (check out the close up pic)

Here is the new project I started it's a pocket scarf, you knit a scarf but in the ends of the scarf are pockets for you to tuck your hands into to keep them warm, I let Ashley pick out the yarn she liked for this :o)

I did finally finished the baby's hoodie sweater, now I just need to pick up some buttons to sew on there, I love the way it turned out :o)

Okay, I guess that's about it for Me, On Friday Jak's work is giving us a baby shower, we'll be going to that around 11am before we head up for our Dr's appointment, Nothing planned for the weekend, except a little bottle shopping and baby shopping. Have a great week everyone!!

Happy New year!
