In the Goodman/Egbert Household :o)

First let me share the great news about Greg! He is doing much better, They've reduced his medications and he actually stood on his own for a short bit yesterday, They took his neck brace off as there was no damage to the next. Today they may possibly be moving him to a rehab center so that he can continue his healing.. Thank you to those who have continued to pray and please carry on, He has a lot of healing to do yet. We sure miss Greg around here..

This weekend was Ashley's 6Th Birthday. She had her party with her Dad on Saturday and her party with us was on Sunday. Since this was her weekend with her Dad, Jake and I got to spend the entire weekend working on her gift from us! We painted her bedroom pink and replaced her old bedding with new Hello Kitty bedding.. now this is what a 6 year old's bedroom should look like!

Jake and I painted all weekend and my way to good Mom made her the adorable curtains!

This however was NOT how a 6 year olds bedroom should look... yuck!

The look on her face was priceless she said it was beautiful and was speechless for a few minutes.

Her Birthday party went well. Here are a few photo's from that...

That's about it for now, I Have an itch to knit, So I'm going to go see about that! LOL!!!1

Updates . . .

It's been a crazy week & a rough weekend. I have a lot of pictures in my blog folder that I've been meaning to blog about and lots I want to post about so I'm going to do it all here in one blog.

Thank you to all of you who have been thinking of and praying for Greg (Greg is on the right). Greg is from Washington and has no family here in Oklahoma, So our group of friends are all like family to him and each other. We've all been up in Norman everyday to support him and be there for his Parents and Sister if they need anything. They are truly wonderful people. Greg is a special guy, He's very nice and giving and just fun to be around. Greg was more responsive yesterday, They finally started backing him away from the meds and he was more alert, he responded by hand squeeze when asked if he could hear the nurse and see his Mom and Sister, So that's very good. He also shook his head up and down when asked if he was hurting. It's still too early too tell how much damage was done. But he is at least stabilized and on the road to recovery. When I know more I will post. Please continue to pray and think of Greg and his family.

Abbey is getting to be in quiet a lot of mischief lately for sure. Starting to get into things a lot more... She recently found my ball of yarn in the floor while I was knitting, She was like a kitty Cat attacking it!!

She also has learned how to get into our diaper basket under the coffee table and turn it over... She gets everything out and chews on it of course... LOL!!!

Last weekend Mom and I headed down towards Dallas, TX for her belated Birthday trip, She wanted to go down for some shopping and dinner at TGI Friday's. We were child free which was very unusual shopping for us! hee! We had a great time... Mom found her a quiet hairy and handsome bear to snuggle with at the chocolate factory..

My good finds for the day was this Garlic holder from Kitchen collections and then a new pair of shoes (for walking) from the Sketchers outlet. They are so comfy.

Jake and I have been wanting and water cooler for some time. We drink a lot of water around here and the gallon jugs take up a lot of room in our little fridge but we couldn't bring ourselves to pay $100 for one, It just so happens I drove by a garage sale the other day where they had one that looked almost brand new, hardly been used and they only wanted $15 for it! So here it is, Works fantastic and we LOVE it!!

Ashley had farmer day at school last week, They could dress up as a farm animal or farmer or farmers wife. Ashley was a farmers wife...

Not much else going on around here really. In my knitting bag I have a nubbins dishcloth I'm working on, My second one and I Also have some socks, an adorable sweater for Abbey and of course the afghan I can never seem to be motivated to work on. I've seen so many afghan patterns I like so much better since I started that one. Ashley's been asking for some fingerless gloves for play so I need to try to find a kids pattern or alter an adult pattern for that. I've decided I want to find one or two good charities that accept knitted items. So I can knit some things for them.

I guess that's it for now. This week I'll be busy getting ready for Ashley's birthday party which we're having here at the house with just our family and friends.

Until next time!

Thoughts & Prayer Request...

Jake & I have a very good friend, His name is Greg Nordheim. He is from Walla Walla Washington but has lived here in Ardmore for a good number of years, He works at Circuit City with Jake. He fell approx 10 feet from a ladder at work yesterday. He hit his head on the way down before landing on a concrete floor. He was medic flown to OKC right away because he had bleeding from his ears...We drove right up since his family lives in Walla Walla, WA we knew they couldn't be there right away... he was fighting the medics a lot, they had to strap him down and sedate him... We were told that he has a frontal skull fracture and is bleeding internally. Until he stabilizes there is nothing they can do for him and he is in a coma.

so for those who pray please say a prayer for our very sweet friend Greg & for those who do not keep him in your positive thoughts... Jake will be going up today to spend the day. His parents came in last night......

Thank you so much...

Field Trip - Carter County Free Fair

Last Friday Ashley's class had their first field trip. Iit was to the Carter County Free Fair, I left Abbey with Mom and went along. The kids were all very well behaved and Mrs. Allen knows how to keep them in line for sure!

We saw a few animals, they had a lot of them out for judging.

We got read a farm story and have lemonade.

and then we saw a video on gun safety..

then we got to see all of the crafty intries to the fair.. there were some beautifuul quilts, pictures and other things, This caught my eye, a crochet purse!

We had a nice time, I will be trying to go to every field trip this year as I did last year :o)

Dishcloths - Ballband Style!

Well, It' no secret to any of you who've read my blog at all that I recently took an addiction to knitting dishcloths! Man, I just love them! So easy to take along and most don't require too much thought (a good thing for a busy mommie), I want to convert the whole Domestic world over to using knitted dishcloths so I can knit some for them! LOL!! I already have my mom hooked!

So here are a few I've recently been working on. I finally tried the Ballband cloth, Famously known from the Mason/Dixon knitting book, but I found the pattern for it here.

Two Ying-yang Ballbands... color swap if you will these went to Mom

My new obsession, I suspect along with many other pink lovers, The Brown/Pink combo this one stays with me and I'll be knitting mates for it...

This one is from my Nifty Knit Dishcloths book I purchased at Hobby Lobby with my 40% off coupon of course! Love this book, This one went home with Mom as well, She was glad to have three new ones, She mumbled something about it being hard to only have one pretty discloth.. I better get busy making her some more huh? LOL!!

Other than my addictive knitting to Dishcloth's I'm still working on that Afghan that I started last summer.. LOL!! and a wrap for Ashley, a pair of socks, and facial scrubbies for me and Mom, I need to take some pictures of those for everyone to see, They are awesome to help wash your face with..

Okay that's it, Just a knitting blog, Hope everyone has an awesome Labor Day!!
